OUR STORY

Throughout my childhood, my mother, always had a large vegetable garden. Along with the vegetable garden we always grew many flower beds filled with zinnias, sunflowers, and many other varieties.  Her love for gardening had a huge impact on my life and I developed a deep love for nature and flowers in particular.

I left my parents farm to go off to college. I earned a masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. The love of plants was always still in my heart, I would constantly shop the local farmers markets and plant stores near me.

Fast forward a number of years, I married a grain farmer (Matthew).  I moved to a small community in northwest Illinois to be with him on his family farm to start our own family and dreams.  I dreamed of someday having a field of flowers on our farm to enjoy.

In 2017, I started reading about cut flower farms and followed a couple of farms through Instagram and this dream came to life in a very powerful way.  In spring of 2018 I decided to venture into the world of starting flowers from seed.  My home filled up with beautiful little plants and by summer's end I had my field of flowers.  I spent my summer learning, tending, and most enjoyably, cutting flowers and creating bouquets for our home as well as any friends and family that would stop by.

In 2020, we are put up a small greenhouse to be able to grow more flowers than before. In the fall of 2020 we decided to move to the family Schlachter farm. My husband is the 5th generation to live here. I am blessed to be able to live here and build by flower farm on the main Schlachter Farm. 2021 is our fourth year. We offer flower delivery subscriptions, where I have met some of the most amazing customers, have a roadside stand, and will provide beautiful flowers for weddings. We hope to make many new connections this year so we can get our fresh from the garden blooms into many more homes this growing season.

A big thank you to my husband, family, and friends for cheering me on and helping this dream become a reality.

XO... Annie
